Dear Members and Friends,
I hope this newsletter finds you all doing well and getting back to business as everything slowly opens back up. As we all are navigating through doing business and providing services in a new way to keep everyone safe and practicing social distancing, we need to remember to stay positive and help each other through these times. Let us be the positive influence in our organizations, businesses, and communities to help everyone move through this transition period.
As we are not be able to meet in person for our monthly meeting this month. We will be having a double header webinar this month called “Developing a Successful Reasonable Accommodation Process and the ADA, and the Surrounding Hodgepodge Regarding Service Animals.” This webinar is free and on June 11th @ 11:25am it will last two hours and is presented by Julie Ballinger, M.A., Southwest ADA Center Affiliate to register and learn more click here. This will be a great webinar with lots of good information so please take advantage of it and register now on the SNM SHRM website. Our July presenter Griffin Allen is changing his presentation on “The Heat Signature of High Performance Teams” so that it will be a webinar as the Las Cruces Convention Center has notified us that they will still be closed in July.
The Kent Evans 2020 Eagle Award nomination forms have been emailed out to several businesses, municipalities, and counties. We are accepting nominations for the 2020 Kent Evans Eagle Award so if you would like to nominate a deserving HR Professional, please find the nomination form on the Southern NM SHRM website and the form can be found directly at https://snmshrm.org/images/meeting/092520/2020_kent_evans_eagle_award_nomination.pdf. All nomination forms are due by June 30, 2020. So, please submit your nominations. We have lots of deserving HR Professionals and this is the time to recognize them and their contributions.
New SHRM Recertification PDC Option – Earn Recertification PDCs for COVID-19 Work. This is a new program from SHRM that where you can earn recertification credits for you work on COVID-19. There is just a response summary form to fill out and follow the instructions. You will have to of attended at least one chapter or state council COVID-19 specific program and document it in the summary form. Look for this form on the SHRM website.
