    President's Report

    Dear Members and Friends,

Things are warming up and Springtime is just around the corner.  Soon things will be in full bloom just like our chapter. I am happy to report that at our Board Meeting on February 27th the board passed the annual budget, provided input on a scholarship process for our members, made progress on updating our Kent Evans Award forms and process, along with discussing the upcoming Employment Law Update Conference and looking into a way to offer our monthly chapter meeting online so that all of our members can gain the knowledge and experience that is provided at each one of our chapter meetings.  We are looking at ways and things we can do that will benefit all or our members. In the upcoming months we will be rolling out the Scholarship information and process along with the nomination forms for the Kent Evans Award.

NM State SHRM Conference will be on April 20-21, 2020 at the Isleta Casino and Resort.  You can register for the conference at  https://shrmnmstateconference.eventbrite.com.  The state conference is a great way to network with others in the Human Resources Profession and to gather information on new emerging topics, law changes, gain motivation and learn new motivational techniques that you can take with you.  The conference will also help you in recharging yourself so as the theme for the conference is HR: Power Up! That is what will happen at the State Conference and I hope to see you all there. The NM State SHRM Council is also accepting nomination for the 2020 SHRM HR Professional of the Year and nomination forms can be downloaded from the website at http://shrmnm.org/hr-professional-of-the-year.aspx and nominations close on March 30, 2020.
