    FLSA What you Need to Know

    Attendees will learn hours worked concepts including minimum wage, how to compute overtime correctly and about youth employment laws.

    Gutberto Martinez has worked for the U.S. Department of Labor – Wage and Hour Division almost 31 years as an Investigator for the Albuquerque District Office in the El Paso Area Office.  He has participated in numerous enforcement activities relating to investigations and litigation under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Davis Bacon and Related Acts (DBRA), Service Contract Act (SCA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Protection Act (MSPA), the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHAact) and the Immigration and Nationality Act under H2-a (H2-A).  Gutberto has served as a mentor and trainer to new investigators.  He has received numerous Secretary Honor Awards as well as the recipient of the Regional Administrator Award.

    Gutberto is a native El Pasoan and earned Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas at El Paso.
